How do I prepare zucchini flowers?
I have some male ones, and a mixture to stuff them with. How do I clean them? How do I prevent them from falling apart during stuffing and cooking? Thanks for your help
You can gently run them under cool water and place them on a paper towel or very lightly brush them with a damp cloth. Zucchini flowers are very delicate so stuff them gently. If you do not stuff them too much, you will not need a toothpick to hold them closed. Dredge in flour, removing excess. Heat olive oil in skillet and fry. This will most likely not cook the zucchini that’s attached to the end of the flower so you may want to put them in a 350 oven for about 10 minutes. This is how we made them at the restaurant I worked in.
